Beeman R6:

One of the newest stars in the Beeman line, the R6 air rifle is an excellent choice for all shooters.  This mid-sized rifle is suitable for adults or teens, men and women, and can be used for backyard plinking or the occasional small game foray.  The mild report and smooth trigger action will please new shooters, while experienced airgun aficionados will enjoy the light weight and classic lines.

The hardwood stock lacks the customary long slot under the forearm that other break-barrel models require for the cocking arm to swing through.  This is because the R6 has a unique double jointed cocking lever which needs less space for movement, and allows more wood at the front of the rifle giving the rifle a finished look.    The smooth lines of the stock meld into each other to flow from the front to the back, which incidentally, is neatly trimmed with a soft rubber butt pad.

It is the trigger which can make or break an air rifle, and this is the area that Beeman rifles truly excel.  The legendary Beeman "R" Series trigger is standard fare on the R6; this unit has long been considered one of the finest trigger assemblies ever designed for a sporting airgun.  The two-stage trigger allows the shooter to pull the trigger blade gently back until it stops - at this point just a tiny bit more pressure will disengage the sear and allow the rifle to fire.  The unit is completely predictable shot after shot, and can be fully adjusted for the shooters preference, although most will be delighted to leave the rifle at the factory setting of just under two pounds of pressure.

The R6 comes with a set of excellent open sights, fully adjustable for windage and elevation.  The tunnel post front sight allows for quick and accurate target acquisition, but slides off the front dovetail in an instant for those who wish to mount a scope and a Beeman muzzle brake on the rifle.  Scope mounting is secure since the dovetails are cut straight into the receiver body tube, and there are even three holes along the top of the body designed to accept a recoil stop pin to eliminate scope creep.    The automatic safety can easily be disengaged with a push of the button on the back of the receiver tube.

Although a simple gun, this German rifle will give the entire family plenty of shooting fun.  The smooth action provides little recoil or vibration resulting in a rifle that will be shot for a lifetime.
